I don't even like Yoga and I become a convert. But, if you don't stay there, one should stop by soon after arrival to plan what activity one wants to be involved in at Layla.įor me, this trip is was all about sunrise Yoga! Yep, 7 a.m. The guesthouse is small but a true treat.

Layla Guesthouse, Cafe, Tours, Sunrise Yoga, Spa: Something for everyone! Layla is absolutely the best place to stay!

We really loved it here and it was hard to say goodbye. The beach in front of Layla is the best beach in Puerto Morelos! The town is a nice place with a very convenient, well-stocked gourmet supermarket, fish market, bookstore, ice cream shops, art fairs, farmers market, and pier. The upper deck was an absolute gem for 360 degree views of the sunset over the mangroves and moonrise and sunrise over the ocean. Upstairs we would bring a snack or a meal to eat at the sky bar or just relax and enjoy the view. I was thankful to have the beautiful little pool to cool off in and I did exercises in the pool too. So cozy! I really appreciated having plenty of filtered water and the bookshelves in the rooms. We also stayed in the Josefina room which was like being in a treehouse with a huge window filled with green from the flamboyan tree outside. I also appreciated the king-sized bed, and the kitchen was equipped with quality cooking utensils. We stayed first in the La Selva room, and I loved the workstation with natural light and a view of a mini rainforest garden.

The rooms themselves are beautiful and comfortable. Where to start? Layla is a wonderful place and my partner and I were so fortunate to find it! We stayed here for three months in the spring of 2020 during the pandemic outbreak. The hosts Robin and Steve are the sweetest people! Robin is caring, generous and organized and was ready to help us with whatever we needed, which was very reassuring under the circumstances.
